Welcome to the application for “loud and proud”. The course is suitable for those who want to explore; mixing techniques, hands on but not from the start, new tools and tricks that are usually not part of the basics. The aim is to look at your needs and go from there. Mixing nowadays can include both arranging and production and can therefore become a huge topic. We will try to go through these differences and talk about how they are intertwined, as well as looking into actual scenarios and the techniques that can be used to alter the sound, feeling and experience of a composition.
The course consists of 2 course sessions of 6 hours each during a weekend. The course is divided into two sections with focus on the following:
01-Mixing, what it is, why we are doing it and how we can approach it
02-Your mixing tool box; what do you need and how do you use it?, listening techniques and lots of examples.
The level of the course is adopted to the participants along the course and we are constantly working from the perspective of where you are in your personal creative process.
The participant is expected to bring: Computer with recording software of your choice/digital audio workstation (DAW), a pair of headphones of better quality. In addition to this, we use free softwares and plugins to be able to explore the course together.
We will be using both your material (if you want) as well as material recorded by me.
